wollen means to want to.

Use wollen for a strong wish or intention. In polite medical German, prefer möchten.

Clinical register: In medical practice, use Sie with patients. Du/ihr are for colleagues, friends, or family.

Present forms of wollen: ich will, du willst, er/sie/es will, wir wollen, ihr wollt, sie/Sie wollen.
Do not conjugate the main verb. Only the modal verb changes: Ich will die Untersuchung machen. (Not: Ich will die Untersuchung mache.)
